fun, funky place in Bmore???

a group of friends are getting together to celebrate a birthday. any suggestions? somewhere with a fun atmosphere, good food, and good booze. nothing to fancy, brewers art is a possibility to give you an idea what i am thinking. any ideas are appreciated!

-I second a few from above who mention Peter's Inn- The food is top shelf and it is totally funky. It's my first choice when I want high quality with a more low key fun vibe- however it can get very crowed.
-Henniger's is another fun place with tasty grub
-I always find Sascha's a crowd pleaser and is fairly easy on the wallet
-Rocket to Venus- make a res. if Fri or Sat They have great booths and some really fun cocktails- the gingerberry drink is excellent!

Jack's is great. I had dinner there over the weekend and it was fantastic.
I'd also go to Three or Woodberry.

I'd recommend Zodiac. It definitely fits the "funky" bill but the food will be great. You can drinks before or afterward next door at Club Charles.

Peter's Inn is great, but I would never call it "fun and funky"!!!

I suggest:
Brewer's Art (eat upstairs then move downstairs for a more "funky" atmosphere)
Nacho Mama's
Red Star (not really funky, but fun)
Salt
Lime

My God. If you want edible food, do not go to Nacho Mama's. Drinks yes, food no.

Go to Jack's Bistro and sit in the bar area.

I have ot been to Rub, but it's gotten mixed reviews here. I need to go check it out -- it's just a few blocks away.

I like Rub for sure. The decor is a little too overdone for me to think it's funky, but it is very laid back and the food is really good. You have to be a meat eater definitely. The margaritas are really good. The parking is insanely easy :)

Yes - I think their food is pretty good. You can sit upstairs then stop at the bar on the first floor for drinks before/or after. Plus, they have live music every night.
