Tanners on Main St. is a good place. If you don't mind the ride, Norby's Steak House in Lake Wales is some darn good eatin'. Late night cocktails at Old Man Frank's is also fun. Louie Mack's in Lakeland is also worth the trip. Also, there's some good barbecue in Winter Haven: Smokin' Jims on Havendale Blvd and Brock's on Dundee Rd. Gary's Raw Bar in Lake Alfred is THE spot for oysters in the area. I also like Harborside Steaks & Seafood on 7th street. Have fun and good luck!

Btw, I made a mistake-Tanners is on Central (that is the main street in town). I hope you found it.

I don't think it's in Winter Haven, but you have to go to Chu Chu Churros on Lake Underhill. It's an Argentinian steak house - absolutely amazing. The steaks are the best in town, but they also have utterly incredible homemade empanadas, chimichurri, sweetbreads, and blood sausage. A must go for anyone in Orlando.

Harry's Old Place for excellent old school seafood--but be prepared to wait, or get there early.
