i'm getting pants tailored on the LES and I'd like to have lunch while I wait for them to be hemmed, any cute places near Rivington/Orchard to have lunch with a friend, under $15 each? nothing fancy... preferably no asian.

Bruschetteria is the definition of cute and nothing fancy. It is calm and sweet and the food is lovely.

It's on Rivington between Orchard and Ludlow (closer to Ludlow, I think). Here's a link to menu pages listing:

'inoteca is very nice, and under $15 if you order carefully.

I don't know if it qualifies as light, but Little Giant is cute, yummy and affordable on the corner of Orchard and Broome (and close to Babycakes if you save room for a cupcake after).

more casual than the other places listed but tiny's giant sandwich shop on rivington and norfolk is delicious and pretty cheap.
