Would love to hear some of your favorite inexpensive food haunts for breakfast (good coffee is a must)/lunch (dim sum or brunch) /dinner (laid back place with long counter) in Vancouver and Seattle.

JD, Seattle's International District offers the best inexpensive food options. Seven Stars Pepper Szechuan, Tamarind Tree and Green Leaf are Chowhound favorites. The oddly appealing Fort St. George is another consideration. In Pike's Market I suggest the upstairs bar at Maximillien's at the Market, Matt's at the Market and 94 Stewart St. True Seattle destinations include Palace Kitchen and the new, vibrant Txori (which is the most expensive option mentioned but worth the splurge.)

      Inexpensive but good: Rangoli, Crave.

Have a look at this post as well: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/482191 for my "ultimate Vancouver" list.
