Have to pick up a client in Penn Station and take him and one other for a dedent lunch. Looking for some advice 20-30pp is sufficient, New American, Pan-Asian, preferred. Italian OK. Let's avoid steak houses.

here's the rub...lunch is Thurs. so tough reservations are out.

Thanks for your help hounders...i will follow up after the lunch and let you know how it went.

Is that budget just for food? Also, how far can you go from Penn Station?

Seven? Ben's? Spanish Taverna? The Australian? Kum Gang San or something else in Little Korea? How far from Penn are you willing to go?

Tir Na Nog is right across 8th Ave. from Penn Station, and it has quite decent fancy Irish food. I remember being impressed with the smoked salmon, less thrilled with the crab cake. The atmosphere is upscale pub, dark wood, brass, that sort of thing.

It's crazy crowded around rush hour, which is the only time I've been there, but perhaps lunch is more civilized.
