Spectacular Lunch Near Santa Monica?

BrookieStyles Jan 22, 2008 08:22 AM

I am trying to find a good, romantic restaurant in the Santa Monica area to take my boyfriend for Valentine's Day (we are celebrating on the 15th--so it needs to be open for lunch on the weekends). Money is no object as long as the ambiance is great and food is delicious! I have already tried Capo's and Jiraffe but they are not open for lunch :(

Thanks in advance!

You can't get more romantic than the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga, if the weather is nice.

You might also think about the Saddle Peak Lodge, which is open for brunch on Sat. and Sun., 11 - 3, though it's not really "in the Santa Monica area" (not THAT far, however, if you drive up the coast: from Sta. Monica to Malibu Canyon Rd. is maybe 20 minutes, and from there it's another 15 minutes or so).

Yes, Shutters is very nice, and very romantic; it's like one of those TV commercials for a beach resort somewhere, and has a terrific Santa Monica Bay view. Plus, depending on how romantic your lunch gets, Shutters is in a hotel <wink wink, nudge nudge>.

Are you sure you are celebrating on Feb. 15th? It's Friday, not weekend.
