Best burger in East village/union square/gramercy

Aimee Jan 21, 2008 06:15 PM

I don't eat burgers too often but I'm having a craving. Thanks.

#1 for me is Royale on 11 and C
    #2 is Mollys on 22 and 3rd

      I agree about Molly's, which is on 3rd, b/t 22nd & 23rd.

The burger at Blue Smoke, on 27th, b/t Lex & Park Av. S., is also very good.

Of course, if you're not a weather weenie like me and are willing to brave the cold, there's the Shake Shack.

Most recently, I had a truly sensational burger at Pamplona, on 28th, b/t PAS & Madison, where Chef Alex Urena's combination of beef, suckling pig and chorizo makes for a mind-blowing taste experience! And his fries are not too shabby either.

I enjoyed the burger I had recently at Stand -

I agree! Stand has multiple burgers: beef, chicken and salmon. Where else can you get a burger as a side to your burger? They cook exactly to your specs and the mayo is perfection.

Best burger is at Blue Smoke. Same burger as shake shack but twice the size.

They will also happily split it for you if you don't want that much burger.

I tried to eat the whole thing once at lunch, and was in a coma the rest of the day.

Thank goodness someone else is try and loving the burger here. It is the only burger in the city that I can just close the top and bottom and enjoy. No need to adjust and remove any toppings. The fact that its only $5 is amazing.

So correct- the toppings are always so fresh and good. Not sure why everywhere else can't do this.

I was at Royale on the weekend for Superbowl, clean, friendly atmosphere and the burger is simply wonderful. Fresh toppings and a decent juicy sized burger cooked to medim rare. And very gooey american cheese on top! I will be back even if means trekking over to avenue c...

Stand House Burger... I like Royale too, but their burgers are a little overcooked for my taste. Stand uses high-quality beef and their medium-rare is a little on the rare side, just perfect, which does the beef justice. The off hours two-for-one deal gets the price down to five buckaroos.

                      Goodburger on Broadway b/t 17th and 18th. It's a good burger.

I haven't been, but based on Roze's description, Seymour Burton sounds pretty darn tasty:
