Dinner out by Nellis AFB

My wife and I will be visiting Vegas in March, and for most of the week we'll be staying at Nellis AFB, which is kinda northeast of town.

Anyone have any recommendations (non-fast food) out that direction for Lunch & Dinner? Under $20 per head preferred.

The Cannery Casino is only around 5 miles away. I understand the buffet is decent and their steakhouse, Waverly's, is considered above average. Here is a link to Waverly's menu:
