Where's Laura Brennan?

It's a year since Caffe Umbra closed. Does anyone know what Laura Brennan is up to now?

Spoke to her a few months ago before the holidays, she was involved in a new venture with Vic Leon the owner of Foodies. He was opening a new suburban Foodies that has quite a bit of focus on take away prepared food items. That's the last I heard.

That must be the new Foodies in Duxbury. I heard it was much bigger and nicer than the South End Foodies. That seems like a good for her. I'd expect there to be a lot of demand for upscale prepared foods in that town. Duxbury hadn't had a supermarket of any kind for some time.

The Duxbury Foodies is quite nice. I'm sure it will be successful there. The wine selection is a little short, but there are other good wine venues in the area. They also have a great looking salad bar. Will try it for lunch one day and report back.

I know she contributed some consulting work to The Beehive's initial menu, though with the chef changeover, I'm not sure how much of her influence survives. I vaguely recall hearing somewhere about her considering another Seasonal Table kind of venture: prepared foods for takeout, catering.

As I much admired her work, I'd love to know what her next venture is, too. I'm also curious if anyone knows what happened to her pastry chef, Ron Roy. He made the best salt caramel ice cream; we miss him, too.
