L'Andana is no Mistral
I heard from family memebers this place is great, and have eaten at Mistral believed it. I do not know where to start. Well I guess the bad first and then the little bit of good at the end.
Service: Our waiter was not very attentive, he is supposed to be like Keith Lockhart maiking sure every detail is taken care of. Dirty plates and glasses left on the table for a long time and then dirty place mat between appetizer and meal was not cleaned for at least ten minutes. Our waiter said sorry numerous times for taking so long to complete things like getting us water, or drinks or anything for that matter. To top it off when we paid it was part cash part gift certificate I specifically stated an amount to be charged to my card and the waiter just put the 20% instead of the 15% I was going to give for such a lackluster performance. When you are spending almost $ 500.00 the service should be excellent. I could go on but will stop here.
Food: Is everthing emersed in salt before coming out, I should have drove to the Atlantic and took a gallon of seawater and chugged it down. Well OK the Tuna was void of taste and we also ordered the squid, mix the two together and the salt balances nicely. On to the main course......my mouth is still dry from all the extra salt, salt and more salt. Veal Salty, Salmon except for the center Salty, even the Chicken parts of it so salty it could not be eaten and then parts so bland you would not know you are eating chicken. We never ordered desert for the whole table but one desert Tiramisu was not very good. One of the deserts even had salted caramel sauce. Oh almost forgot could not fisnish the Bolognese.....guess why...............TO MUCH SALT!!!
Drinks: How can you mess that up? Other than just taking a long time to get them.
Good Things: The Bread, French Fries and Tortellini where the highlight of the meal. The other good thing was leaving.
This is no Mistral, hopefully they will work out the kinks but I can say the Two Food Guys and there spouses will not be back any time soon.
