monteverde cortlandt manor

food was just ok, not great. salmon mediocre, halibut good, gnocchi ok, salad fair, breads poor, service fine, venue fabulous. i will give them another try in a few months, see if food improves

intrepid, from previous posts I have noticed that you are a hard person to please but the issue here at the beautifully re-born Monteverde is that the head chef Neil Ferguson is also spending time at Friedberg's other eatery, the hot new Allen & Delancey on Manhattan's Lower East Side...as we have seen so many times these days, it is hard to be in two kitchens at once...and by the way I do believe that the new Monteverde is a wonderful addition to the dining scene in the suburbs, as is Allen & Delancey to the Big Apple...

gutreactions, i am not a hardperson to please, I do know good food however. I have been to allen and delancey many times, and think it is fabulous, its a considerably better than monteverde. yes the venue and grounds are wonderful, at monteverdebut their food has a long way to go, its a nice addition to the burbs if they can improve their cuisine, if they dont, they could end up as a suburban casualty, as I stated, I will go back in a few months and try them one more time..thanks
