Before the Rusty Scupper (Long Wharf)

I'm hoping someone out there can help me. Does anyone remember what the Rusty Scupper was before it was, th Rusty Scupper. I'm talking about the one down on Long Wharf in New Haven? This has been the topic of hot debate for a few days and I would appreciate any input.

Ironically, it was built to be Leon's who then had labor issues that put them under. I have not been to the new Leons yet. But have seen mixed reviews here

That's exactly what I thought. Thanks so much for your replies!

To the best of my recollection, there was nothing at the Rusty Scupper site prior to the building of that restaurant. Most of that land in the Long Wharf area was not land until it was filled in when the Ct Turnpike was constructed in the late 50's.
