7 Eleven coming to South Park slope

OK folks...not sure what this means but, 5th avenue between 12th and 13th, there are signs for a franchise location of 7 Eleven...Not sure that I am a fan of that place in the midst of Commnwealth, Piramide, and Sidecar...

    Ugh. That's basically the LAST thing that (or any NY) neighborhood needs.

      I'm probably in the minority but I'm a little bit excited. Having slurpees within a few blocks of my apt is pretty rad. It doesn't fill the void that my favorite bodega (16th and 5th) left when it closed a few weeks ago.

        other "chains" in that area have failed, no? quizno's, pizza hut?

          Only kidding - I haven't seen a 7 Eleven since I lived in Taiwan - and that would be a welcome addition because they had tea eggs, garlic cucumbers, and edamame marinated in anise, sesame oil, and hot pepper. Why can't our convenience stores have such healthy late night drinking snack options?
