CAJUN in Greenville, SC
On a recent road trip I exited I-85 for coffee & spotted Chops Cajun Foods & Specialty Meats.
Unfortunately I wasn't hungry, because their eat-in menu sounds great & the food patrons were eating looked & smelled wonderful. There is also a meat counter & refrigerated (perhaps freezer too) areas with meats & pre-made dishes for takeout. I purchased some tasso, andouille & boudin blanc. (Ran out of cooler space or I could have done more damage!) Just arrived home, so have not had a chance to try it. The eat-in menu had a variety of poboys, gumbo, red beans, etouffee & daily specials. It is a small, neat & bright spot which has been opened a little over a year. Functional in decor. The husband half of the owners was very helpful. Both husband & wife are from La. When I inquired about the turduckens listed on the take-out menu he seemed to be still recovering from their popularity over the holiday season. This place looks like it has possibilities! Has anyone tried the prepared foods or have any reviews?
