Chowhound Question [immersion blender]

Is there a place on Chowhound about products used by other foodies? I want to buy an immersion blender and I was wondering if anyone had a brand recommendation that they are happy with.

Hi - Here's a link to a search I did with "immersion blending" in the title - hope it helps:

I have one and use it for soups but I forget the brand name right now - will check in the am.

i vote for the Kitchenaid...which is what i have, and I LOVE it!! Use it all the time for everything from soups, to hummus, to stuff like creaming a block of cream cheese, right out of the fridge, to icings etc. I have been at other family member's homes and used cheaper immersion blenders...and they just don't have the power.

Bamix makes the best immersion blenders. They are not well known in the states but if you do some research you will see how well they are regarded.

This is the board for it. There have been a number of discussions regarding immersion blenders over the past few months. Do a search & you will have oodles of info!

My current retail level favourite is the Kitchen Aid. Far superior to my previous Braun.
