We are new to the area and are looking for a fun spot to take the family (wife, self, 2 kids) for lunch. We took a friend's recommendation a few weeks ago and ended up at a place called the Purple Cow - not impressed. READ: Sysco. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just took my little girl to the American Girl cafe at the store in the Galleria. She loved it. Also she is 7 but has for years loved going to the Chesecake factory and also she really likes Maggiano's.

Have you been to the All Good in Deep Ellum on Main at Walton - it's loud and boisterous in an Austin rock and roll kind of way. They have a couple of baskets of toys for kids (they can be grungy, though). No real kid's menu, but they have something the kids can split...you might look at the menu before you go to see. The food is good!!

Any Mongolian grill...the kids will be oohhed and aawed by the cooking
Bennihana's...same effect although it can get a little expensive
There are a couple of restaurants in the Gaylord Texan hotel. That would be a great outing for an afternoon.

Avoid at all cost: Magic Time Machine in Addison. It's like a nightmare gone bad.
