Duck Eggs

Does any body know where I can find some quality duck eggs.
In or around San Francisco preferrably.

New May Wah Market on Clement Street has fresh duck eggs for $.39 each, less for a flat. They also have balut, which is a little less "egg" and a little more "duck". So to speak.

All you ever wanted to know about baluts.

Not even Chris Cosentino of Incanto could bring himself to eat balut, and he can eat almost anything. He has a recent blog entry about it (the photos are a little hard to take for some people, so don't click if you think you might be grossed out):

I guess Chris wouldn't be a good candidate for a Balut Eggspress franchise...

My theory on how balut got its name.
The first person who tried one on a bet, bit in, tasted it and turned and said as he ejected it "balut".

I believe you can get them at the Alemany Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
