Just wondering if any of you use this book for dining and have any suggestions fir westside locations. We're in a rut but sort of trying to go to places in the book (the front section where you use the card, not the coupon section)

I have a copy of "the book" but I'm not divulging any secrets. Good luck muhlyssa.

We have had a couple of these books and kept finding ourselves going to restaurants we didn't really like just to save money. Kinda like going to Costco to "save" money. A few more trip to Costco and I won't have any money left to save.

My husband and I invested in one of those books this year and I totally agree with you. The restaurants we choose out of the book usually serves up mediocre fare. Very rarely have we ever said, "We'll come back here again." A few times we get some dirty looks from the waiters when they see us brandish the entertainment card/coupon. It's a great way to sample restaurants with a coupon, but the restaurants will probably never see you again.

Your comment about dirty looks reminds me of my wife's quote about using the "stigma book" when we were looking for someplace to try.

Me and my fiance have been trying to get our moneys worth out of our book, but i'd have to agree that of 8 or so places we tried, only one I'd go back to.... That would be Nyala, an Ethiopian restaurant on Fairfax. Nyala actually is in the 2nd section of the book ~ there's a $14 coupon. The meat and the veggie combos were very good. By the way I really enjoyed the Ethiopian beer I tried there... even went down the street and bought a 6-pack to bring home.

That's very true, I don't think I've ever been back to a place I discovered in the book. I wonder why places keep participating when I doubt it drives repeat business, especially since once you've used the coupon you can't go back with a discount. I like idine.
