My understanding is that the restaurant lost their liquor license due to the inadequacies related to the restaurant's physical space, particularly the washroom. The drop in business due to the loss of the liquor license was simply too much to recover from. Clearly, the landlord and Buzz did not see eye to eye on a way to remedy the problem.
In my opinion, the food at David's was always fresh, well prepared and reasonably priced for the huge portion sizes. Hopefully, Buzz will resurface somewhere else.
R.I.P. David's by Day, Buzz by Night.
David's had a few good things but too many tables; just not comfortable. Don't like Hope St. much. Food is not great, especially the freezer home fries that always arrive cold and dried out.
The owner of Hope St. has taken over the David's space and will soon open his second restaurant in the neighbourhood. Maybe he should have made sure his first place was good before taking on a second one.
