Looking for a cafe between Newport and La Mirada

fatnoodles Jan 17, 2008 11:25 PM

i'm not too familiar with OC. i have a meeting next week with a someone that lives in newport beach. i will be coming from La Mirada.

we'll both probably grab a drink and maybe order some pastries. a quiet cafe would be nice, but not a must. noise level should be tolerable as we will be meeting for about an hour. must be able to grab a seat quickly with a table large enough to sign some papers. easy to find and close to freeway a plus.

anyone know of any place that would be a mid way point for us? somewhere in long beach? or even in anaheim off the 5 freeway? TIA!

Zov's Bistro, Cafe, & Bakery in Tustin might be ideal. Right off the 55 fwy.

Strong 2nd for Zov's - great idea! There's the more casual cafe side & slightly more formal, but not stuffy, restaurant side.

Not much for choices here in Long Beach that are just off the freeway, but you can always go to Hof's Hut on PCH and 2nd St.

I would go to Rutabegorz in Old Towne Orange. There are also locations in Tustin and Fullerton, if those are more convenient for you. Orange seems to be a good halfway point between La Mirada and NB (at almost 15 miles away from each). I've never been to Rutabegorz, but it has been highly recommended by a number of people, and it seems like the food is very fresh. It's definitely a place that I want to try. Check out the menu below.
