Where to find cavalo nero?

Does anyone know where I can find cavalo nero? If not, where do I find Savoy cabbage? It's a nice time to make some ribollita. Speaking of ribollita, if I don't feel like making it myself, any suggestions on restaurants that do a good job with the ribollita?

Berkeley Bowl usually has Cavalo Nero.

Cavolo nero, lacinato, dino kale, all the same thing. I got some at Ferry Plaza yesterday, and I've seen it recently at Whole Foods. I use the ribollita recipe from Rogers & Gray (the first River Cafe book)--what do you use?

I use the recipe from The Silver Spoon. Thanks for all the responses! I didn't know about the other names. :-)

Cavolo nero is sold by many vendors at all the farmer's markets and there is savoy cabbage also. Cavolo nero is also known as dinosaur kale.

Last year I bought cavolo nero from Star Route at the Saturday market at Ferry Plaza. I've also spotted Earthbound's cavolo nero in the organic section at a few supers.

In November I had a delicious ribollita at Zazu in Santa Rosa. This was more bean-heavy with less greenery.

I had ribollita the at Delfina and Aperto both did a good job. I liked Delfina's more like my grandmothers.

I Golden Produce carries savoy cabbage.
