Birthday Help

16thStreeter Jan 17, 2008 10:10 AM

I'm having a get together for my birthday this Saturday, and would like suggestions of where to bring a small group of friends. We are of the "Congee Village" and "Sammy's Roumanian" type for get-togethers, but we have already done both of those for birthdays and need something new.

Any fun, unique, divey, good-snackin' places to go to?

Right off the top of my head: Silk Road Palace (aka Chinese free wine). It is decent-to-good non-descript Chinese food and unlimited free wine. The crowd is boisterous and the atmosphere is celebratory. It certainly makes for a fun, unique, divey and even good-snackin' experience. I had my own birthday there recently and was surprised by how much we all enjoyed ourselves having previously thought that free wine Chinese would be bad.

What about Korean BBQ? I like Shilla and Seoul Garden on 32nd St, between 5th & 6th Aves.
