Telling a colleague about a pear cloufoutis I enjoyed in Paris........searched.......can't find anything.

Anyone? Midtown east would allow some instant gratification. Thanks.

Financier in the World Financial Center has it and it is good. But homemade is better. Try Julia Child's cookbook. Great recipe if you also soak the cherries in some brandy or Kirsch.

Not that this is terribly helpful, but I don't recall ever seeing clafoutis on a menu. Are you looking for Manhattan specifically?

It was a whim, but I'll travel...Bklyn, Queens, LI......if someone knows of someplace special. I'm guessing a French bakery would have at least one variety......Payard is probably a good bet, in Manhattan.

Marquet Patissierie has cherry claouftis. i dont know if they have pear but they always change varieties. several locations in the manhattan and brooklyn. never been to the one in manhattan but they have good pastry but get there ealry in the day to get the freshest product. im sure if you google them you will find all the required information. the croissants are pretty good too, and there is plenty of variety. the only issue is consistancy. they have good and not so good days but the sweet danishes are always a hit. enjoy. avoid the cupcakes they look "cute" but if you have one you will quickly realize what im talking about.
