Anyone into the downtown Bridgeport, CT dining scene?

Just reading a lot about downtown Bridgeport now. What's happening down there. Just read in the sunday paper about Two Boots Pizza opening and also a place called Cafe Roma? I have not been down that way in awhile.

I haven't had a chance to try Cafe Roma. I heard the owner is from Northern Italy and his Mother is the cook. I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Two Boots, not so much for the food but for the entertainment(they also own Mo Pitkens Cabaret so I think they will get some great bands/entertainers). The renovation of the building looks really great too.

You can search for a few threads I recently started, one is about authentic Mexican food in Bport and the other is about West Indian food. Very soon I'll be posting about the many Brazilian restaurants that can be found in the city.

Close to downtown if you head North on Main Street there are some good, humble places like Mommie's Patties for Jamaican, Taqueria La Michoacana for Mexican, El Sabor Salvadoreno 1922 main street for Salvadoran.

Thanks. I like LaCaguena near St. V's on Main St for puerto rican food. I also liked the place on East Main St near the old motor vehicle for puerto rican food but have not been there for awhile. Begins with an "M" but I forgot the name.

Tristate Board has a lot of posts on Bridgeport.

I'm partial to Ralph n Riches like many others--always decent. Cafe Roma has been on my list, specific to Downtown area of course.
