We want American fare for dinner tonite. Been to Cynthia's and love it. Just want to try something new...any suggestions? Maybe BLD or the Village Idiot?

Or 3rd Stop. Also more casual than Cynthia's but good and fun, especially if you like craft beers.

Very nice, complimentary recent report on Melrose Bar & Grill (the old Doug Arangos) on the board recently. Also there is Taste on Melrose just east of La Cienega.

The relatively new Food Court LA is worth a taste. Not quite up to Cynthia's level but slightly more creative/fun.

For me, BLD is not great for L or D... just B ; )

How about Luna Park on La Brea and Wilshire?

Luna Park is great, if a little uneven. But La Brea & Wilshire is a bit out of your target zone.

Agree BLD is often disappointing, especially at dinner. But Vilage Idiot is definitely worth a try. Or if you want to step it up a notch, there's Table 8 to the West.
