Todd Conner's - Fells Point Baltimore

Just got back from an early dinner at Todd Conner's in Fells Point, which was just what we needed. This is the new place where Slammer and Armadillos used to be at the corner of Broadway and Aliceanna. The inside is transformed.

They start you off with a cone of homemade crispy potato chips (might rival One Eyed Mikes - less greasy, but no parmesan). Boy had a burger that was done just as he ordered it (medium - nice and pink) on a ciabatta roll. I had the grilled cheese (three cheese), which was on buttery crispy Texas Toast.

Oh - we took advantage of the Wedn. night neighborhood special (25% off). Just had to show our license with our address. Simple fare so I haven't completely made up my mind, but I'd encourage others to give it a try and report back. The owner was super-friendly - so much so that you want it to work. Neighborhood folks, give it a try next Wedn. (or before then if the other specials jump out at you - see places link for more info).

I checked out Todd Conner's last week and would recommend it. I had a strip steak and my friend had the crab cake. The steak was seasoned perfectly and the crab cake was pleasantly spicy. We took advantage of the weekly 1/2 off wine bottle special and split a bottle of pinot noir. The check was $63. Good stuff!

We just went to Todd Conner's in Fells Point for dinner and really liked it. The owner was really welcoming and friendly. I am definitely picky about food, and everything was so fresh and flavorful. You have to try the calamari, it is delicious! The portion is a bit small however, but you can go on Tuesdays when the apps. are 1/2 off. Also, the tuna bites are really good, I got them on top of the house salad, and the combination was excellent. My mom got a burger and said that it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. They have a lot of different specials throughout the week, so I would say that it is worth checking out, without a doubt.

There must be a new chef, because our experience was not at all like the ones described above. We were the only people in the restaurant (we didn't end up wondering why), our food was not fresh, the service was not sparkling, etc. The one thing that remained the same were the small portions that were not in keeping the price. We would not recommend Todd Conner's, which I hate to do to a local business. However, when there are so many other wonderful options...why go back.

I was there a couple of weekends ago and really enjoyed the food. A co-worker (from out of town) really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. She said there was very little filling and really enjoyed it. I had the crab salad, which was perfect for a summer evening meal. The waffle fries were really good. I hope waom was there during a bad night and I experienced more of the norm. I was hoping to return soon.
