Magic Pan Salad dressing
Does anyone have the recipe for this dressing? The salad was mandarin oranges, lettuces, and almond. The dressing was a very light vinaigrette, if memory serves.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks, antilope, for searching. This recipe does not quite seem to be as I remember. I don't recall tarragon nor egg. Maybe my memory is faulty!
Thank you!

I definitely remember egg; not sure about the tarragon, though. I was also a big fan of their split pea soup with warmed sherry.

Oh, I used to love this...I made up my own version and used something from Kraft called "Golden Caesar" or "Golden Italian" diluted slightly with olive oil, 'brightened' with lemon juice, a bit of fresh grated garlic and a touch of Keens dry mustard added, quite successfully. Now, living in Canada it is not possible to get those flavours or at least not often, but I think they are still available in US supermarkets.

Thanks so much, everyone. The "sweet and sour" phrase sounds on target according to my memory.
Will post back when I have something to report. Thanks again to all.

checking dates this may be too late, but I got this recipe years ago, and it also tasted closest to me:
1 tsp. tarragon leaves (dried)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp. dijon mustard
1/2 cup tarragon vinegar
1 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds
Put dried tarragon, salt, pepper, sugar and mustard into a small bowl. Using small wire whisk, thoroughly mix in vinegar. Slowly whisk in oil until completely blended and light creamy colour. Let sit for 20 minutes. Place salad (lettuce, celery, parsley, green onions, mandarin oranges on plates. Sprinkle with dressing and almonds.
The hardest thing to find is the tarragon vinegar, but everytime I find it, I make this. It really takes me back.
