DUMBO Indian

Hi, has anyone tried the deli on the corner of Front and Jay st. that has an Indian Buffet? I'm very curious about it. It always smells good when I walk past, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. thanks!

Simple and very tasty a few weeks ago. Not quite as good a couple of weeks later. Pretty poor a few days ago. I don't know if this describes inconsistency or an arc. If it could steady-up it would be a welcome change of pace for my daily lunch choices.

I had a chai tea there the other day. It was pretty bad. Granted, I stopped by at the end of the day, but it was practically cold and tasted like dishwater. That said, the buffet items do smell alluring as you're walking by...I will have to give it a try.

i tried the chai tea a week or two ago. it wasn't the best i've had, but also not the worst. but it definitely wasn't hot enough.

I've eaten there a bunch of times because I live nearby and the local options are limited. I also love Indian food and am willing to eat it even it's mediocre. This place is pretty inconsistent. I had a dish that was stir fried potatoes in a dry curry that was pretty good. Meats tend to be sketchy. The dals are generally alright. They used to have samosas and pakoras that were good but I haven't seen them lately. Definitely worth a try if you live or work in the area.

I'm a bit wary of an Indian restaurant called Marrakech Express.

Forget that place, it is a dump. What we need to do is send out the message that we want a real high end Indian restaurant in Dumbo. It would do fabulously and surely be profitable. just look at the demographics!
