Hip Restaurant Near Grand Central

Looking for a good restuarant with hip young, but not too young, atmosphere near grand central. First thought is artisinal . . . but otherwise having some trouble.

I've never thought of Artisanal as hip (although we loved the place) but if that is what you are looking for how about db Bistro Moderne.

"Hip" is probably the wrong term, maybe warm, good new york crowd-db is not a bad idea.

Ask to be seated in the back if you want it quieter, up front if you like it a bit more boisterous. There is always the option of the high tops in the small "bar" area that's a nice combination of the two. Great high end food and it doesn't have to break the bank if you don't want it to.
