Wallse vs. Bar Blanc

Trying to think out of the box and go somewhere delicious, more casual than say...Bouley... and interesting.

Does anyone have strong opinions about these two restaurants? Or better suggestions in the same vein?

I've havent been to either. We tend to stick to standards....Blue Hill, Gramercy Tavern, Danube ect.....

Wallse is excellent. I've not been to Bar Blanc.

yeah, Wallse is excellent...plus you will be surrounded by recent Golden Globe (and potentially Oscar winning) winner Julian Schnabel's art...even though it's appeal is questionable. Only downfalls to Wallse - crappy chairs and cheesey/played out decor accents. Food is top notch though.

you mentioned "more casual than bouley" in your post... bar blanc chefs are bouley alumns, so it might up your alley. i haven't been to either but have heard good things about both.
