Tea Upon Chatsworth

THIS is a true food find!! If you want the real tea experience--all fresh, gourmet food, great tea selection with knowledgable people, lovely environment and great service--I just dined at Tea Upon Chatsworth in Point Loma and highly recommend it! It's across from Point Loma High School, next to the European Cake Gallery and The Venetian. It is run by a lovely lady named Joy, who clearly takes pride in her tea shoppe. She makes all the food from scratch with quality ingredients and will share with you the story of how she got to the point of opening her own place. The homemade scones are moist and light and served with clotted cream and rose petal jam, which she also makes herself. There were hot and cold sandwiches, flavors to die for, including a tiny roasted red potato with gorgonzola, which might be the tastiest morsel I've ever had!! One dessert that stood out was a "white forest" cake (as opposed to Black Forest)! Unbelievable buttercream with cherry ganache. Try the Paris tea--I could not even move on to try anything else.
I've had "high" tea everywhere in San Diego and many places beyond, and this place is superior. I'd say it is a great place to take mom on her birthday, a nice lunch with friends or a special occasion kind of place.

  1. TOC is very nice. I have been there 3 times and it is decadent. I took my mom and aunt one year for Mothers Day - they loved it.

    1. Thanks for the tip. I drive by there more than once a day, and always wanted to go, but never have.
