after dinner drinks in the old Mtl

Hello, have a reservation this Saturday in the Old Mtl for a light dinner however we were thinking of having some drinks afterward & nibble a bit.

besides Suite 701 (that Place d'armes bar) I have no idea where to go...Hate pretentious atmosphere. Not Aszu eother, since we go there quite often. Not taht coffee-chain place either. We are both 30/31 years old.

Please help!

You're a short stroll from Mechant Boeuf, a new spot that just opened on Saint Paul, just past the Nelligan. I like it, but reviews have been hit or miss.

There's a place called Cobalt at 312 St-Paul Ouest that's quite nice and unpretentious. They have a simple menu.

Cobalt has been out of business for almost a year!

I also suggest Le Confessionnal, right next to Vallier. It's a great little place. Thursdays are crazy, though, for the 5 à 7, but it gets better around 8-ish.

I'll second santos. Great little place. I would also tell you to eat there. I found the food there excellent and light. and if you like burgers, definately go for it. Tuna sashimi and the shrimps are also a must try!
Anyhow, I don't know where you made reservations, but are you aware of the table d'hote event that is going on with a few of the restaurants at the old port. http://www.happeninggourmand.com/

I suggest you take advantage. Suite 701 is one of them as well. check it out!

Santos... Where JavaU was before(I think). I wouldn't call it pretentious, but it does have that "vibe". I went once with my boyfriend and it was enjoyabe.
