Cafe Santa Monica

I was hopefully when I saw that Cafe Santa Monica (on SMB at Yale) was under new ownership and it looks like they had been take over by Coogies (the one in Malibu that I was familar with and liked). Well it's nothing like Coogies in Malibu. I think it's exactly the same as it was before. Very disappointing.
We had a very poor meal there a few weeks ago. I have tried to rally the troops for second attack, but they have been not been in a forgiving mood. We had eaten at Cafe Santa Monica a couple of times after they first opened and never went back. So I have been wondering why I kept hearing good things about the Coogies in Malibu, after I ate at the SM branch. Good to hear that this is not representative of the Bu branch. Has anyone eaten at Swinger's, (if it is still there at Broadway and Lincoln?), lately. I kind of liked it the couple of times we tried it but, again, I have been outvoted after a couple of visits.
Sadly, Cafe Santa Monica has been on a downhill alert for a long, long time.... probably since it first moved up to Yale from it's original location on 21st St. Every few years, I make the mistake of going back there thinking that *maybe* there's an improvement, but I'm always disappointed. To be avoided until further notice.
