Augusta is a wasteland for food with a few exceptions...
In the eclectic category Rae's Coastal Cafe is kinda different and can be tasty if you're in the mood. The actually serve a legitimately spicy Jerk there...
In my opinion, the best food is found at Sheehan's Irish Pub...really a gastropub more than an Irish Pub. They do have some Irish classics, but in keeping with the chef's background have a fair amount of NOLA/French inspired dishes. On New Year's Eve, I had a seabass served over a bouillabaise that was out of this world.

Time your trip to be in Statesboro for Lunch at Vandy's. Best cue in south ga. been there for over 50 yrs. Love that yellow sauce.
