Pre-game dinner in BU area

Northender Jan 14, 2008 09:32 AM

I will be going to a B.U. basketball game Wednesday evening and am looking for suggestions for a pre-game bite around Comm. Avenue near West Campus. All types of cuisine are in play. Thanks!

Closest would be Brown Sugar and the newish Turkish restaurant on the other side of the street that people like. Plus Sunset Cantina for bar food and beer. More east is Audobon on Beacon St.

      I second Sunset Cantina.
I love brown sugar too, but depends on if you & your friends like thai food.

I third Sunset Cantina. My husband and I have a weakness for their chili nachos.

Oopsie - I hadn't noticed that this was another one of those duplicate threads.

The Turkish restaurant is Saray - they're really good, probably the best meal really close to West Campus.

If you're looking more for something quick and cheap, there's Grille Zone for burgers and other sandwiches, T Anthony's for pizza, or the Super 88 food court for a myriad Asian options. If you keep going down Brighton Avenue there's a ton of great places between Packard's Corner and Union Square - it depends of how far afield you mind going.

Sorry for the duplicate posts - my fault. This is a perfect list. I think Brown Sugar or Grill Zone might be the best locations in terms of proximity and timing. I have wanted to try Carlos Cucina for a while but would like to do it at a more leisurely pace.

Thanks to everyone who posted. These were all helpful suggestions.

1st Choice: Gitlo's; 2nd Choice: Carlo's Cucina; If you need something closer: excellent burgers at Grille Zone.
