Anyone know where I can purchase a whole tofu cheesecake in Manhattan? I know various vegan and Asian restaurants sell it by the slice, but I am looking to buy a whole cake.

I'm not sure if they would sell you a whole cake but it's definitely worth a call--their cheesecake is incredible:

Call Kyotofu and see if they will sell you a whole one - their stuff is absolutely delicious.

Thanks for the suggestions. Kyotofu says they can make a tofu cheesecake that feeds 15 people for $80 with 3 days advance notice. Since the cheesecake is for someone who is lactose intolerant, I was surprised to hear that normally Kyotofu uses a small amount of
cream cheese in the cake, but they said that, on request, it could be prepared without cream cheese (hope it's just as good). I am still waiting to hear back from Franchia.

Good luck! Let us know what happens. I liked the cheesecake tons more at Franchia. Generally, I enjoy the sakes a lot more than the food at Kyotofu.

Thanks for the input. Franchia will do a cake that serves 10 people for $65, with 3 to 4 days advance notice. There are no milk products in the cake. I am leaning toward Franchia since the original cake won't have to modified to omit cream cheese.
