Among the best subs we've found to be at D'Orsi's a little way up from Peabody square. They also have italian pastrys, cakes and other distractions.
D'Orsi's Bakery & Delicatessen
Deli/Sandwich/Subs, Fast Food
197 Washington Street, Peabody
(978) 532-0102There's also an Upper Crust now is Salem if that's the kind of pizza you're looking for.

I've been out of Danvers for about 4 years now....I heard that Betty Anne's Sub Shop closed down??
Is that true?
If so, that's a shame...talk about the best (tuna) subs around!!!
Another vote for Supreme's -- and another high school memory as well :-)
If you find yourself in Salem, check out Dina's on Canal Street -- great chicken kabob (and steak tip) salads!!

For pizza in Danvers,I hope you will try Sam and Joe's on Water St in Danversport. The crust is thin and they have been selling it for at least 40 years that I know of.Almost (maybe exactly) the same pizza is sold at Calitri's on Rt 1 south, there may be a co-ownership there.
I never knew of any really stellar sub shops in Danvers. Its a fairly quick trip to Super Subs in Beverly, which to me is about as good as sub shops get.›1 Reply -

re: ScubaSteve
oh wow. the memories. i went to high school just up the street from supreme's and we used to skip physics once a week to sneak down to supremes. it's a great place. Roast Beef isn't as good as Nick's in beverly but it's definitely up there. Unfortunately I can't comment on their subs since we just stuck to the beef.
