Wedding reception at a restaurant in Brooklyn

I'm planning a wedding for September in Brooklyn, we're planning on having the ceremony in Prospect Park. I need ideas on restaurants with good food that can accommodate 125 people. Would like to stay under $150 per person. I've ruled out the Boathouse and Picnic house in the park. My current option is Tempo, but would like to look at other alternatives before we make a decision.

I don't think I want to go with ethnic food, although I would consider Russian, but those restaurants have such a gaudy over the top atmosphere.

Would appreciate some suggestions.

  1. How about Robin des Bois (a.k.a Sherwood's Cafe) on Smith Street? I am vaguely planning a far-off wedding myself and have been thinking of looking into it... would love to know their cost per head.

    1. Frankies on Court, private stable. 125 might be at bit much for that though.

Frankies limit is much closer to about 50.

      2. So what did you decide, and how was it? We are looking at Tempo for October for about 90 people.

        1. Check out the Montauk Club. There's a fine room upstairs with a bar - kind of for the cocktails and a great room downstairs for party and dancing. I went to a wedding there and it was great.
