Viterbo

We will be spending a week in Viterbo in June. Anyone know of a good find there?

Thanks.

I was there last July with folks in the know. They took me to DADA L'Osteria, which is outdoors overlooking an open area of the city. It was very, very good for "nice" dining. Preferred by my crowd over Tre Re.
With our kids we went for pizza at Il Monastero, home of the two-plate pizza. Fun!

DaDa is under new ownership so I withdraw my recommendation.
As for the above mentioned Tre Re, I'd recommend staying away. It's a tourist trap, living off it's long history of past glory.

We went to Tre Re too, and also had the delicious chick pea and chestnut soup, and went back the next night, and had it again! Nice place too.
Also went to a great pizzeria one night, in some cellar like edifice, packed and jumping, I'm sure the locals will tell you which.

Il Richiastro used to be good and may still be. They did really traditional recipes.

          Thanks,

Both La Torre and Il Richiatro are in the Slow Food book so we will give them both a try.

I went there today and was directed to Tre Re by locals. I enjoyed it. I had the zuppa di ceci e castagne.

I wanted to go to Enoteca La Torre, Via delle Torre 5, mentioned in Plotkin's book but it was closed on Sunday. I guess there aren't so many amazing restaurants but often those are out of my price range!
