Upper West Side . .Best Delivery

I am new to the area (from Boston- where nothing is open late ever!) and am looking for GREAT delivery places on the upper west side. I am located right on 111th and Broadway, and am open to any kind of cuisine. I would prefer something cheap, but am open to really great higher priced delivery.

Hi there. I really love Alachi Masala for Indian, I think they are around 83rd and Amsterdam. Nothing amazing, but consistent. Also like Land thai, same thing. Agree with the suggestion to hit Columbia area!

You're also right near Columbia...and college kids love late-nite cheap delivery! Walk up Broadway and you should be able to gather some takeout menus, or check out campus publications etc.

Yuki Sushi--best sushi on UWS, fast delivery, try the yanagi roll
Tomo Sushi--closer to your apt, cheaper than Yuki, still very good
Taqueria y Fonda--delicious authentic mexican, make sure you verify your order before hanging up!
Indus Valley--a little pricier than many indian places in the nabe, but the specials are totally worth it
Gabrielas--fast delivery, great mexican food, pricier than taqueria
Henry's--upscale american comfort food, try the roast chicken
Toast--just moved down to 105 and Bway from the 130's, delicious burgers and great homemade fries
Subsconscious--this place recently opened and has surprisingly good sandwiches, nice variety, and you can order online

I second metro diner and flor de mayo as well, always fast, always good and filling. Rack and Soul is very hit or miss, some nights it comes fast and tastes great, other nights you'll wait more than an hour (for bbq!) and the food is barely passable.

Off the delivery topic, if you want a great soup or salad near your apt, try the Westside Market at 110 And B'way. Open late and they have really great prepared foods!!

Just a note: Westside Market at 110th is open 24/7! Though late night sometimes soups are not always there, but who knows!

Re Rack & Soul: when I asked about delivery, the counterperson told me that I would have to pay for the cab fare coming to and leaving from my apt. I had never heard of such a thing and thought it was ridiculous. Do you do this?

I like ordering out from Ouzen (sp.?) on Amsterdam Ave. Fresh, hot food delivered fast.

It's nothing fancy but it's decent diner food.
