Last night we had a very nice meal at BayWolf. One dish in particular stood out for us:
Shrimp stuffed squid with a saffron buerre blanc. 3 whole squid that had a shrimp stuffing with a depth of flavor that was impressive ..... as was how tender the squid were. The saffron beurre blanc contributed a nice note of spice and richness but not to the extent that it overpowered the aquatic elements. A deceptively simple looking dish until you take a bite.

Thanks for the tip, gordon. There are so many 'meh' reports about BayWolf it is nice to hear something postive. What else did you have?

we really enjoyed the charcuterie plate and had some grilled escarole with the squid.
I had the cassoulet - classic winter comfort food. bergamot creme brulee for dessert was a nice way to end our meal. very good service and a comfortable atmosphere in a converted house - you can have a conversation without yelling.
