Sandwich/Soup/Salad place near Westbury, LI
In desperate need to a good place for lunchtime fare that will deliver to my office on Old Country Rd in Westbury, LI.
Any suggetions. Brendel's is good (near Century 21), but they are way too unreliable, messing up orders, taking forever to come, etc.
Any help would be much appreciated by me and my office.
Thanks.

My best advice is to give Brendel's delivery service another try. It's much faster and I haven't had a messed up order since Feb. The food is really good and they've added to their menu-including a yogurt machine with fresh fruit toppings.

Got a mailer at home today from one of the places I was thinking about. It's called Takeout Taxi, phone 294-7141. Website is www.takeouttaxi.com. They do charge for the service, but it might be worth is if you have enough people in your office.

Where are you on Old Country Rd? Carry-out cab is a place that delivered in the area from a variety of restaurants. Not sure if they are still in business. If you are fairly close to Century 21, there is a place on Carman Avenue, south of the family court, that is pretty good. I think there is also some kind of sandwich shop that is on one of the industrial side streets that are on the north side of Old Country, either State St. or one of those, you can try. Kitchen Kabaret is pretty far from you, so doubt they will deliver. There might be a place on Post Ave. north of the train station that you can also us. You can go scout them out and get their take-out menus, and give them a try.

I don't know if the Turkish place in the little shopping center next to Baci delivers. But I ate there for the first time about a month ago, and it was delicious.
Great salads and kebobs, etc. Good prices too.
I couldn't tell you the name of it though. Something with an A? It's been mentioned before on the board.

re: amymsmom
Azerbijan Grill--Was eating here consistently for awhile and then the last 4-5 times I've noticed a definite change in quality..think they might have gotten a new chef..because I know he was on vacation for awhile...the chicken was either overcooked, or undercooked, and the spinach pie which is fried there, was completely greasy like it was deep fried and not pan fried, and the sambusa's were dried out and over fried several times. It used to be excellent--but now I'm getting concerned to have another meal there, and they also raised their prices about 15%--
