In desperate need to a good place for lunchtime fare that will deliver to my office on Old Country Rd in Westbury, LI.

Any suggetions. Brendel's is good (near Century 21), but they are way too unreliable, messing up orders, taking forever to come, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated by me and my office.

Thanks.

  1. I don't know if the Turkish place in the little shopping center next to Baci delivers. But I ate there for the first time about a month ago, and it was delicious.

Great salads and kebobs, etc. Good prices too.

I couldn't tell you the name of it though. Something with an A? It's been mentioned before on the board.

Azerbaijan - I think I spelled it right.

Azerbijan Grill--Was eating here consistently for awhile and then the last 4-5 times I've noticed a definite change in quality..think they might have gotten a new chef..because I know he was on vacation for awhile...the chicken was either overcooked, or undercooked, and the spinach pie which is fried there, was completely greasy like it was deep fried and not pan fried, and the sambusa's were dried out and over fried several times. It used to be excellent--but now I'm getting concerned to have another meal there, and they also raised their prices about 15%--

I agree about the decline in quality of Azerbaijan over the last few months. It used to be one of my favorite lunch spots. The food has definitely gone downhill, and the place-- at least at lunchtime-- seems in a bit of disarray.

    2. I have no idea if they deliver, but have you called West End Cafe at Old Country Rd & Glen Cove Rd? Ayhans at The Source?

Also, there must be a food delivery service in Westbury that will pick up foods from a variety of restaurants.

      1. I don't know if Kitchen Cabaret on Glen Cove Rd. delivers, but they're probably the best takeout lunch place around.

I second Kitchen Kabaret!!! they have everything there, and it is all so good.

        2. Where are you on Old Country Rd? Carry-out cab is a place that delivered in the area from a variety of restaurants. Not sure if they are still in business. If you are fairly close to Century 21, there is a place on Carman Avenue, south of the family court, that is pretty good. I think there is also some kind of sandwich shop that is on one of the industrial side streets that are on the north side of Old Country, either State St. or one of those, you can try. Kitchen Kabaret is pretty far from you, so doubt they will deliver. There might be a place on Post Ave. north of the train station that you can also us. You can go scout them out and get their take-out menus, and give them a try.

          1. Soup Exchange
            Franklin Avenue north of Stewart

I live in GC and haven't been. Short, lunchtime hours. It seems really good, though. I guess it's worth it.

              Thanks to everyone.

            2. Got a mailer at home today from one of the places I was thinking about. It's called Takeout Taxi, phone 294-7141. Website is www.takeouttaxi.com. They do charge for the service, but it might be worth is if you have enough people in your office.

              1. Panera doesn't deliver? What about the columbian chicken place?

                1. My best advice is to give Brendel's delivery service another try. It's much faster and I haven't had a messed up order since Feb. The food is really good and they've added to their menu-including a yogurt machine with fresh fruit toppings.

Thanks. yes, they have been a ton better and the food is really good. They do a very nice job now.

We also make Hale and Hearty runs when possible.

since it's delivery anyway,i would give bialystock and bloom a try.they are in rockville centre.it's like a gourmet deli and quite good.although they have a store there,i know they will do corporate accounts.
