  1. Bits and Bites?
Is that like the old Nuts and Bolts?
I think I've had those Bits and Bites, and they are horribly salty. You can mix just about anything you want into the combination, but the classic is Wheat or rice Chex, or Shreddies, Cheerios, pretzels and peanuts. I've made it using oriental sesame snacks, and a few other odds and end of things I've found at the bulk store.

    Nuts and Bolts
    Yield: About 9 cups

7 cups Cheerios, (mini shredded wheat) and Shreddies cereals, combined
    2 cups PLUS virginia peanuts
    2 cups PLUS pretzels
1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp cayenne
    3 dashes hot sauce
( pinch PLUS of salt...there's not quite enough in the other ingredients)
    Preheat oven to 250º F.
    Combine cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Set aside.
    Stir together remaining ingredients.
    Pour over cereal mixture.
    Stir gently.
Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
    Store in airtight container.

You could add small cheese crackers, as a part of the bulk of the cereals.
    Great for SuperBowl parties!
