nice, cosy (and hopefully snowy) lunch monday between hudson and new paltz?

hello i will be up in hudson this weekend and am looking for a nice place to have lunch that is on the inexpensive side. i have eaten in new paltz many times before, so i'd like to try a new town and place. i like pretty much all cuisines, but since the forecast is calling for some snow, i'm thinking a nice hearty soup & sandwich combo. ive been wanting to try the egg's nest, plus i'm partial to that side of the river for some reason. thanks for any suggestions!

i should have checked their hours before posting that, as they are not open mondays. sorry.

    2. Even though it's on the "wrong" side of the river, you might want to consider Taste Budds in Red Hook. Soups, sandwiches, deserts, coffee/tea, it's all there. And it's only a few miles from the Kingston Rinecliff bridge The place appeals to locals including Bard Students.

this place sounds good, and i always want to check more places out in dutchess, etc. i will be sure to post if i patronize...thanks for the rec!

      2. Ship to Shore, on the Strand in Kingston. Very cozy, nice menu, for lunch or dinner. I know they have a fireplace, but I am not sure if is working- I haven't been there in the winter. I don't care for the Egg's Nest. It has a very unique decor -maybe worth going to for that, but the food is a bean sprouty, dated kind of cuisine.
