Breakfast near Phoenix Airport

danagrace Jan 10, 2008 11:00 PM

My sister and I are flying in for the marathon on Sunday and she flies in two hours after me. I am looking for a place to grab a quick, but good breakfast near the airport. Any suggestions? The type of food does not matter.

Also, any suggestions for a great, not to miss lunch in Scottsdale, Phoenix, or Tempe? We want to have lunch on Monday afternoon before we fly out. We are going to Cowboy Ciao on Sunday night.

My breakfast suggestions are Lo-Lo's Chicken and Waffles and the Morning Glory Cafe at the Farm at South Mountain. Also have the Original Pancake House in Scottsdale, it's an easy drive from the airport.

House of Tricks is a great place for lunch in Tempe.

    Original Pancake House

The best breakfast burritos in town can be found at Carolina's. Don't let the exterior or the neighborhood keep you from visiting - the Oxaca burrito (chorizo, bean, potato, cheese) is heaven, especially in the morning.
They consistently have the best beans and tortillas.

Never tried their breakfast, but I did like their flautas.

Second! For both of the OP's requests - close to the airport and breakfast, Carolina's gets my vote. If you don't make it for breakfast, lunch is equally delicious.

I love Arcadia Farms in Scottsdale for a girls lunch. Great sandwiches and salads....love the strawberry chicken salad.

You really can't go wrong with First Watch, or Good Egg.

Now, if only I could find a breakfast place as good as Walker Bro's House of Pancakes...

              Good Egg

I'm a big fan of the commuter sandwich at La Grande Orange. It's basically an egg mcmuffin, but really really good. Your choice of sausage, ham, salmon, or avacado With egg and tomato on their homemade english muffins. You can also grab some good bread made by a local baker, or any of their other selection, none of which ever appealed greatly to me.

Pan Dulce (or anything else) from Phoenix Ranch Market at 16th and Roosevelt is also a great idea. There's nothing like a gingerbread pig and menudo.
