Looking 4 Best Wedding Cake In Milwaukee, WI

My son and fiancee are planning their June wedding at the Schlitz Audubon Center. They have sampled a few nearby bakerys for their wedding cake and left each "cake tasting" with nothing but big, sad sighs. Since my son is a chef and graduate of the CIA, expectations are probably running a little high, but if someone could point us to a really no-doubt-about-it fabulous bakery somewhere in the city we would all be so grateful. The couple lives on the east coast and will only be back to Milwaukee twice to taste before the big day. HELP! and thank you! Montanacsl

  1. Working as an event planner here in Milwaukee, I've had the opportunity to test the products of many of our best bakers. I can confidently recommend Sara Unkefer at the Cake Lady and Petite Pastries (check her out at www.cakeladedesigns.com). For a cake that skews more toward the artistic side you might check out Eat Cake on Vliet Street on Milwaukee's west side. Danny at Bay Bakery in Whitefish Bay used to make, what I thought, was the best cake in the city but the bakery has gone under new ownership and I haven't tried them since. Good luck with you search. Call Sara!!

    1. If those don't work, try Simma's http://www.simmasbakery.com/weddings.htm

      their cakes are heavenly!!!

      1. I'm also getting married at the Audubon and having a hard time picking a caterer since I'm out of state. I see your son is a chef, so I would expect he wants good food - who is he using? Thanks so much...also, did he pick a cake place?
