Celebration Restaurant that is kid friendly
Hi Hounds,
My wife is turning 40 and we are looking for a special, upscale restaurant in any price range where children (9 and 6) would be welcome. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

You know your kids best. If you think they can be well behaved, or you can escape with them to let off steam, they'd be welcome most anywhere that isn't a bar, and even lots of places that are. My main advice would be to dine early.
The Blue Room is a good choice if the weather is fine since there's a large outdoor courtyard to escape to if running around is needed, and if the weather isn't good, it's big and can be loud enough to drown out kids.

Bristol Lounge is good for kids. They're closed for much of Jan., dates are posted elsewhere on the board. 6 and 9 shouldn't be too much of a problem in general, right? Maybe also Blue Room, Hammersley's, Union, Upstairs on the Square to throw a few other names out there.

re: Joanie
We took our kids, ages 6 & 7, for a special occasion to the Bristol and were very pleased (based on advice from this board). Staff, especially front desk, were very sweet to them. They are one of the few upscale restaurants that have a kids' menu, and it was quite extensive--went beyond the chicken fingers and mac and cheese.
