Le Club Chasse et Peche OR La Chronique?
Immediate help needed. We just moved to Montreal last weekend (yay!) and today's my birthday! We want to celebrate. Originally we had thought to go to Toque, but upon searching the board I realize that my Montreal restaurant knowledge is woefully out of date. So, now I am deciding between Le Club Chasse et Peche and La Chronique. Any opinions? It may indeed depend on where we can get in at this late date. (We were so frazzled with moving that we didn't think to plan ahead.) If there are any other ideas, I'd love to hear those too.
I recommend CC&P. I've been three times and loved every meal. I went to La Chronique and was disappointed.
That said, my brother, who is even more of a foodie, thinks the exact opposite.
I've been to both, and either would be a fantastic experience, but I prefer CC&P. It's a little more relaxed than La Chronique, and the local emphasis is nice.
Regardless of where you end up, skip dessert (both places are mediocre in that department) and go for the stellar cheese plates.
ETA: Damn, just noticed the date restriction. Hope it went ok!
