Out of the Loop!

Hey Chowhounders,

I'm a former chef who's gone back to school to retrain, but I still LOVE great food. My studies have taken me away from what's new and exciting in the industry. I live in the Annex and am looking for a great place to celebrate my birthday on Saturday. I can't do Perigee or Su Sur's, but wanna eat in style. Any ideas?

  1. Claudio Aprile's Colborne Lane? Christopher McDonald's Cava?

I second this. Super stylish and food is awesome. And Claudio loves Maiden.

What about ONE? In spite of the mix reviews, the decor of that place is pretty...well...stylish.

      Cowbell in P-Dale.

    2. Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar!

      1. George.

        1. Batifole - there are several CH reviews on this one
Probably not at the same "adventurous" level as some mentioned. But excellent value.

          1. Lucien is supposed to be doing fab food at fair prices. Brother in law went and had nothing but good things to say about the food and the service.

            1. Thanks for the tips. I've worked with Chris and Claudio, and know their food well. I think I'll take a closer look at George and Batifole. Cheers!
