Has anyone been there yet? Supposedly they opened at the end of December.

We drove by last weekend, and while the signs are up and the place looks ready, they were not yet open for business.

They has opened for a few days then shut down by the City for a few due to a licensing snafu; they are back open.

The new Porky's is across the street from Bombay 2 Deli.

This strikes me as slightly ironic - meat on one side, all-vegetarian food on the other. But maybe now I can convince my friend, Mr. Must Eat MEAT, to try Bombay 2 Deli if I let him get a burger for dessert.

Don't know all the issues so I'm not on anyone's side but do you all know about this?

I know some people in this neighborhood who have really strong feelings about porky's opening in this neighborhood. I'm actually a fan of the food and though I haven't been to the saint paul one in a while I would go if I had a hankerin'...Especially for the chocolate chip cookies!..and the burgers and the onion rings...

The thing I noticed about it when I drove by the other night was that I think I would feel weird eating in - The people eating were completely on display - It is totallly a fishbowl with floor to ceiling windows all across the front of the building.

When I drove by last night around 6:45, there were 4 cars in the drive thru and no one inside.

We stopped there this weekend after learning the hard way that Uncle Franky's is closed on Sundays.

There were 4 other patrons there. One lady was eating fried chicken, the other three gentlemen present ordered burgers.

The "award winning" pork sandwich was dry and lacked flavor.
The onion rings were big, heavily battered, and cooked to an almost burned crisp.
The buffalo chicken sandwich was drenched in buffalo sauce - a plus for me, but the sandwich was unremarkable aside from the sauce.
The chocolate shake was thick and yummy.

I've been to Porky's in St. Paul. Not impressed. I got a burger and fries, and think I would have been happier at Burger King, which is saying a lot...
